Thoughtful Backyard Wedding // The Adirondacks

I just need some love forever
After all, our time has come

Mt. Joy

Some weddings just feel like the biggest gulp of fresh air and raw joy. Nothing was forced or done for the sake of doing. It was thoughtful and intentional and just an absolute gift of a day. From the location, which was a family home in the southern Adirondacks that was very special to this California bride to the way the wedding party entered the ceremony (more on that later) to the envelopes of pictures left for each of the guests tables at the reception along with a letter about these photographic memories, this day was so unforced and yet so full of intention. It was quite simply, joyful without any of the unnecessary constraints or expectations that can be placed on a wedding. So before I share these images I have to share the amazing ceremony entrance. This Bride and Groom entered their wedding FIRST- yes first!- by walking from a barn towards their guests as music played! They walked in together just taking it all in being able to look at each and every face of the people they loved. They then stood in the center of the aisle as their most special attendants entered and were able to have a moment hugging them and getting words of support as two by two they filed in…again toward the assembled crowd. It was so beautiful and there were many tears all around. If you ever needed the push to do whatever it is that feels right for you on your wedding day, let this be it. Let it be real. Let it be meaningful and let it be joyful.
